The 2013 Carrillo Family Vacation took us to a place I'd never been but was long overdue to visit: ITALY!
Below are a few photos from a trip filled with family, food and history. The full album can be seen here.

The sun setting over my father-in-law's hometown Caggiano just south of Salerno.
(above) A panorama of the view I woke up to every morning at my FIL's brother's house. Olive trees as far as you can see. Mountains in the distance. I knew that I'd miss that view the first time I saw it.
(above) The first true bowl of pasta I've ever had in my life.
Pastries. Pastries. Pastries.
Rolling the dough for pizza from scratch.
My father-in-law working the pies into the brick oven.

On Day 2 of our Rome tour, we inadvertently took a 2-mile uphill walk and ended up at a hill overlooking the Roman Forum and Coliseum (in the distance). This shot instantly made up for the treacherous walk.
